Endocrinology practice involves the treatment of diseases of hormone-secreting glands. Dr. Kistka sees adult patients (18+) with endocrine diseases. Common endocrine diseases include Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, pituitary dysfunction, adrenal dysfunction, endocrine tumors, osteoporosis, hyperlipidemia and hypogonadism. He also performs thyroid US and thyroid FNA biopsy in the office.
Dr. Kistka does not see patients for gestational diabetes (GDM), hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopause or transgender hormone replacement as he is not subspecialty trained in these areas. Contact us with your questions.
Dr. Zachary A.-F. Kistka maintains board certification, and is residency and fellowship trained. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio followed by fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Kistka will work up and treat your endocrine disease. If you are found to have a hormone-producing tumor [Cushing’s Disease, Acromegaly, Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), etc.] or endocrine cancer [thyroid cancer, Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC), etc.], he will refer you to local experts for surgical intervention.
