Zachary A.-F. Kistka, M.D., F.A.C.E.

Dr. Kistka graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine.  He completed Internal Medicine residency at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.  His research focus was the immunology of Type I Diabetes.  Dr. Kistka is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism as well as Internal Medicine.  He is a member of the Endocrine Society and the Arnold P Gold Humanism Honor Society.  He is a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.

At Family Medicine of South Bend, Dr. Kistka is able to provide comprehensive care for diabetes (Type I diabetes, Type II diabetes, MODY, LADA), hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules (including FNA biopsy), thyroid cancer, endocrine tumors, pituitary tumors, pituitary dysfunction, gonadal dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, Cushing’s disease, osteoporosis and parathyroid disease (hypercalcemia/hypocalcemia).

In his free time, Dr. Kistka enjoys baseball, grilling, craft beer, Michigan State University athletics and spending time with his wife and two children.
